Separation

I haven't spent a night away from Johan since he was born. Is that strange? Not sure.

When we were doing Johan's first music class, there was a set of twins around the same age as Johan (around 9 months back then) and their parents spent a week in Mexico and left the twins with the grandparents.

I have also just recently learned that a sister of a friend who has a daughter just a few weeks older than J is leaving the little girl for 3 weeks with the grandparents to go to Europe this summer.

I have no interest in spending 3 weeks away from Johan at this point, but maybe it's time for an overnight apart?

Like to come to Madison for your wife's birthday? As I said in the email I started writing but didn't send yet-- I love Johan and I love seeing him, but I'll see him in April and June, so a night sola in May might be nice for you?

It would be 2, maybe even 3. I am not driving to Madison for only 1 night. But I think we all ready for it. I am working on Grandpa Lund to take Johan to Mille Lacs.

I've had to leave Inga a few times on buisness trips for the institute. The first trip was when Inga was about Johan's age-- she did well, although I heard that it was hard to put her to sleep. She slept with a photograph of me. This last time, I came back to a little bit of a nightmare- she seemed fine when I was gone (didn't need the photo), but has since freaked out everytime I leave for work about whether or not I am coming back...
In any case, I think Johan will be fine. Kids need to learn that mommys can both leave and come back. Obviously the sooner they learn this, the better...
