Me: Well, on direct examination, you testified that blah blah blah.

Witness: Yes.

Me: And now you're saying the opposite of blah blah blah.

Witness: Uh, yes.

Me: So are you telling the truth now or were you telling the truth then?

Witness: Then.

Me: And you're lying now?

Witness: Wait. Am I supposed to tell the truth, or...

Me: Or what?

Witness: The other stuff.

Me: What other stuff?

Witness: The other stuff I was supposed to say.
